Hey people. I AM BACK!!! Muhahaha. Ok, i know i am a bit exaggerating here. But i really miss a lot of things when i was at camp. My home, my bed, my computer, my family, my friends and that someone. XD
Hmm... the camp was actually quite fun. Maybe it was a bit boring, but it is better than i expected. It was also better than last year's sec one camp, at least for me. Haha. Now, i shall briefly say about the camp.
1st day
We arrived at the campsite after a 30 min bus ride. OMG!!! it is so so so ulu. It is located at Lim Chu Kang.
I wonder how other people can find this campsite. Well, that is what i thought at first. A campsite in a ulu place. The facilities there must be lousy. BUT, it turns out that the facilities there were very good. The welfare is a lot better than last year.
After pitching our tents, we went to eat our lunch. THe lunch was served in army style. One had to queue up and go down a table with some trays. Then the people at the table will take a scoop of the food and put it in your plate. For example, one tray contained rice and the other contained meat. They will just dump the food into your plate. And yeah, we had to wash our plates.
So after lunch, we went for a activity called "River challenge". Basically it is just to build a raft with some tubings and spars. Then, evryone had to cross the river safely. There is no escaping. The river is brown in colour. And it smells like shit. But everyone had to get wet somehow.
Next up, is the "Nature Rumble". Sounds nice? LOL. we had to get down to mud. Yes, mud. The black, sticky substance that reach up to our necks. I was just relieved that i was wearing my old shoes. Phew.
The rest of the day proceeded without any major stuff. So yeah, after some night activities, we went to sleep. By the way, the tent is SO hot and stuffy!
2nd day
We woke up at 5.30 am the next day. Yawn. That day was not really fun in any sense in the morning. We went for some more games and tried the obstacle course. Looks like i am still fit after all. I can cross all the 4 obstacles, the parallel bar, the low wall, swinging bridge and the suicide window. I know it is quite easy but for safety precautions, they didn't allow us to try the others.
After the lunch, we started on our hike! d= It was quite fun and enjoyable as we visited a lot of places, all through our own leg muscles. We walked to the goat dairiy farm to see the goats, the frog farm and many others! It was quite satisfying at the end when we came back. I felt that i had, again, completed another difficult task.
After dinner, we had campfire. To be fair, the trainers tried their very best to tell jokes, which were really funny. But, we were simply too tired and could not really concentrate and enjoy ourselves. And all classes had to come up with a cheer and a play. Our cheer was extracted from the banana song, which i cant be bothered to type it down. If u want, ask me for it. Our play was also an extract from advertisements. Since our group's theme is on monkeys, our play involved 4 students acting as monkeys. Hmm. Probably i shouldn't had said this. It is so embarrassing. I was picked to be one of the monkeys. Crap. But i gave my very best. =)
3rd day
Most of us will probably think that the last day is usually very slack. But in our case, we pespired as much as yesterday. Why? Cos we had to strike down all the tents and clean them. Yes, clean them. By which i mean using a cloth to wipe it slowly. By the time we finished, we were all driping sweat. The rest of the time was spent on saying goodbyes and farewells. Soon, we boarded the bus and left for school. Sniff.
For me, i went home with a lot of things. I went home with a new experience, new friendships between our trainers, a whistle my trainer gave to me only and most of all, some values. I learnt that in order to succeed in life, one have to be daring and willing to try. Also, as our trainers always say, planning is important, but so is executing the plan. I also went home with some injuries. Some minor cuts and a painful back. (i fell down on the first day when pitching the tent. The things are so damn heavy that i cant see the slope in front of me.) Ouch! But, i lost a fork. LOL
Well, i think that is all for today. i am so tired now. See ya.
