When things don't turn out according to our plans, we complain. Yet, it was us who made that decision in the first place. Don't you think it's an irony?

Worse still, whenever things DO turn right, we always seem to congratulate ourselves. Yes, that may be good. After all, it takes nothing but a little self-encouragement to get you going in the long run. However, often we missed out on those who had also made the success possible. Be it teamates, advisors or helpers, they form a vital part of the key to success. Without them, it will be equally hard to accomplish any task.

Maybe humans are born to be selfish. Often at times, we seem to forget the contributions of those around us. In our minds, we think of ourselves as the king. In our minds, there's no room for others, save for your loved ones and close friends. In our minds, dictatorship rules. Our minds dictate us to think of ourselves as the person with the most amount of contribution. Yes, that seems right to me.

Don't get me wrong. By that, I meant that I agree that humans are born to be selfish. Think about it. After all, who won't turn down the idea of a carefree lifestyle with no worries, even if it is at the expense of something else?

Kinda feeling a bit sad that sabbatical week had just ended. During lessons today, my mind was like keep wandering off. Even though it's not those kind of sleepy feeling but there are occasions where my mind will become blank. Argh. Let's hope that this does not continue. EOYs are coming really really soon...

Speaking of which, Teachers' Day is just this coming Saturday! After one whole year, it is weird that last year's Teachers' Day is still freshly etched on my mind. Yes, I can still remember what happened last year when I went back to my primary school. In fact, I can recite out every single detail if you want. Ok, maybe not all, but most.

Oh well. Let's hope that this year's Teachers' Day turns out to be good! XD

Talk about having no such thing as free lunch in this world. Well, the leadership sabbatical proved it SO wrong! Hah.

For at least 3 days out of the 5, we had free lunch at various places, mostly catered. Though they are not very filling, but hey, it's at least better than nothing right? =)

Friday's training was quite fun, I guess. If you haven't already know, I am NCO of next year's sec one squad. That is to say, I have no squad to take until next year. Since Hongliang and Haojie was at OB Sabah, Melvin and I became stand-in NCOs for the sec 2 squad on Friday.

Well, to be fair, they are quite a fun-loving bunch of people. There wasn't a major display of attitude problem and they cooperated quite well with us. And most importantly, their squad spirit is really very strong. Much better than what I had expected. And of cos, certainly much better than what I had heard from Dayan they all.

If I have the chance, I won't mind taking them again. Heh. =D

Hey guys. For those who missed the National Day Rally last night, you can actually head on to the Straits Times's website at http://www.straitstimes.com/Podcast/Podcast.html to listen to the podcasts, although the files can get quite big in size.

Alternatively, you can read through the script for the speech at http://app.sprinter.gov.sg/data/pr/20070819990.htm. Although it is just the main points, it can get useful if you don't feel like listening to the whole thing. Besides, since it's released by the PM Office, it should be quite accurate. However, if you want the full transcript, it's here. http://www.straitstimes.com/STI/STIMEDIA/sp/PMspeech/index.html

On a side note, Teachers' Day is coming soon! And guess who's the happiest here? =D

Batch 38 Passing Out Parade 2007 was successfully held on Friday, 17 August 2007. Weeks of rushing documents and planning had finally paid off. Thanks guys!

Organising Team I/C - Wen Wei (ME!)
Organising Team AI/Cs - Jonathan, Melvin, Sheng Jie
Organising Team CI Advisor - Yixin, Yongwei
Photographer - Lewis
Parade Procedure Advisor - Hongliang

To all the people above, a really BIG thank you! You guys had made it possible. XD

A little bit of After-action Review (AAR) here...

One major problem that happened was that a LOT of people ate the food that we catered despite them not indicating interest when the message was put up on EMB. Thus, there was a severe lack of food. Partly as a result, the Sec1s had little to eat. Something for next year's OT to think about... Hah.

But overall, I guess it is a pretty good job, according to some people and tancw. Once again, thanks!

Yesterday was quite an interesting day. =D

Firstly, I went to West Mall to meet up with a friend. At there, I met Jia Sheng, the sec 4 npcc senior. At least he recognised me. Hah. After buying some stuff, I left for Lot 1. And guess who I met? YEAP JUN RONG, the poser. XD He didn't see me though. Hah. And when I am inside lot 1, I met yixin and his girlfriend. He didn't acknowledge me though. So, either he doesn't know me (quite impossible) or he just want to ignore me. Well, whatever...

There's a Zinc shop that opened there quite recently (I haven't been to there for quite long), and when I popped inside, immediately a guy came up and showed me bags after bags. They all cost quite a bit, 60+. Zzz... After finding nothing to buy, I went to BPP and I met Geel! =) She was shopping for OBS, I think... Hah. Well, nothing much after that. Sheng Jie came and we bought a bag as a gift for felix. It's the best thing we could find.

School's starting tomorrow already. Kinda sad isn't it? To those who are going for OBS, good luck! XD

Since it's holidays tomorrow, I am slacking now. XD I shall push all my work to tomorrow bah. Hah.

As we all know, tomorrow is national day! Jiayou ar Jun Rong! All the best at marina bay! =D

Actually, I don't have much to say here... These few days were quite boring and I find it a bore to blog about my life only. All I want to say is that POP is going on well. Next friday is the actual event le. Hopefully, everything runs according to plan on that day. =)

Ok. I know I am not supposed to be blogging right now. After all, there are piles of work waiting for me. But who cares? Hah.

Well, things are going fine for me so far.

First off, I got a High Distinction for my ICAS (International Competition for Science)! That was like the first time I got it? =D

Next, POP is going quite well. The proposal is still under vetting and the programme schedule is more or less settled. Dinner and plaque should be settle quite soon too. I do hope it would be a success. Jiayou guys!

However, my results are still as screwed. I got like a C5 for Physics? ARGHHH! I am so gonna focus on Physics for EOYs! Let's just hope that the rest of the results turn out to be ok...
