Holidays? Nah...

And to think Ms Ting loaded me with SMRP experiments' schedules today. Now, I have to come back like 5 days per week? Zzz.

Brief summary of today.

0745 to 0930--> Marshalling duty

0930 to 1200--> Slack time + PIR interview

1200 to 1345--> Do saikang. Rearranged about 10 classrooms together with junrong, kahyi and kaeyuan. Wonderful distribution of manpower... And this TOTALLY absorbed my energy for the whole day.

1400 to 1630--> Extra Bio lesson

1630 to 1800--> Supposed to play soccer but in the end too many people are playing already. Hence, I went off to slack. Hah.

Feeling quite tired now actually. But still, I have work to complete too. That's the bad point about Sec 3 life admist all the fun that we get... Oh well. Shall get started now. Heh.

Busy

Technically the holidays had started but today is just as busy ever.

In the morning I went to Ren Ci Hospital for CIP. I think it is the last session there if I am not wrong. Anyway, me and Jie Qi left early cos I need to rush back to school while he has to rush to tuition. The session is supposed to end at 1130 but we left at around 1100 cos I need to reach school by 12. Considering that Ren Ci is at Buangkok while my school is at Bukit Timah, it was not very early when we left. In the end, I reached school at around 1205. Luckily Ms Yap is not there yet.

After helping her to load the trophies, I went to change to council uniform. Then after some stoning and preparation, prize presentation for APMOPS started. But anyway, I was stoning at backstage cos I was reserve only... I think I nearly died of boredom. Zzz

Somehow, I made it through and went home after changing out.

Uber tired. And I can forsee that Monday is gonna be worse.

Holidays

Holidays are coming soon but I guess I won't be having a nice holiday. Argh. A summary of the main events in the coming holidays.

First Week

Monday--> PIR interview and extra bio lesson
Wednesday--> PDP training
Friday--> PDP training
Saturday--> PDP training
Sunday--> PDP actual parade

Second Week

Monday--> Bowling Comp Prelim Round (I am in the OT so I have to turn up)
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday--> Unit Camp
Friday--> LMSC (some NPCC course)
Saturday/Sunday--> Ren Ci Food Fest

Third Week

Monday--> LMSC
Wednesday--> PK course (Another NPCC course)
Thursday--> PK course
Friday--> Bowling Comp Finals

Fourth Week

Wednesday and Thursay--> OTC camp

And of cos, I need to carry on with my SMRP project and as well as HRP, which will probably take up some days too. This is also not counting in homework and other ACE projects, which I desperately need. Also, on 26 June, there's gonna be a film premiere CIP at the Cathay. As I am in the OT, I guess we have to plan a lot of things too. Besides, a ticket costs $50. We need to look for people who will actually buy them to watch the film. Anyway, who's interested? XD

And hence, that leaves me with very little time to hang out. But still, I can try to make time if people really do ask me out. So, if you wanna ask me, go ahead! I will see what I can do bah...

Oh yah. To the NPCC people out there, me and some other people will not be taking the LMSC and PK course with you all. So, don't be surprised if you see that the dates are different. Hah. And this brings up another point.

I don't like doing courses with other school, especially if we are the minority.

Ren Ci

Yet another session at ren ci hospital. I was late cos I got something on in the morning, but it turned out that the rest had just started entertaining the patients. So, yeah...

After ren ci, kae yuan and some other people wanted to ask me to go watch spidey 3 with them. But they wanted to watch at Bishan and the earliest possible timing there is 1340. The movie lasts 2 hr+ so by the time it ends, it will be around 4. Since I had something on at 3+, I pangseh-ed them. Well, not really pangseh lah. I suggested watching at Causeway which has a slot at 1300. But they didn't want to. So no choice loh. =( Sorry guys...

At around 3, I went to find some friends. We chatted for a while and walked around before we parted. Nothing much here... Hah.

So now, the list of things to do during this weekend.

1. SMRP
2. HRP
3. OTC thingy
4. CP Booth proposal (guys, pls reply to my email =) )

And of cos, other homework. Argh.

OTC

Had OTC workshop on personal gromming today. Kinda lame for the grooming part but got quite interesting when it got to the dinning stuff. XD

Anyway, returning no. 1 uniform tomorrow. Don't feel like parting with it but life has to move on I guess. Sigh...

More on the interesting stuff now.

CHONGLL deserves to be attituded!

You see, there was supposed to be chem extra lesson today but some of us have the OTC thingy (see above) which was compulsory. But somehow, she was pissed off and since we are not very happy either, me and wen shan attituded her. The conversation went something like this.

Her: Are you all here for the chem lesson?

Me: Err... No.

Her: What's your reason?

Me: We have the OTC meeting.

Her: Can you don't go for that one?

Wen Shan and Me: No. It's compulsory.

Her: (sounding very pissed off) I didn't mean that you will skip the whole thing. I just mean that can you get some extention till say 3pm?!?!

Me: Erm... I don't think we can do that.

Her: (looking irritated) Wen Shan, can you help me go ask?

Wen Shan: I don't think can.

Her: Why?

Wen Shan: Cos we have to even skip EP3 (HCI's version of CCA) to go for that one.

Her: Ok... Just grab your bags and get lost.

It's rather obviosu that she don't trust me. FINE then. Whatever... Zzz.

Is it just me? Or does Blogger seems to be having problems these few days?

Anyway, the aftermath of OBS.

1. More tanned.
2. Nearly got sunburn.
3. Bug bites all over
4. Phone broken (though not directly linked to the camp).

Well, the phone just kinda split into 2. And yes, all my important dates are gone... Zzz. But I bought a new phone! 6288. Hah.

Now, let's talk about OBS bah.

Day 1
Waited for about 1 hour at the jetty for the boat to come. They very efficient sia... And I was the last few to come. Thus, when I reached there, I was like feeling very sian... So, my group became known as Marco Polo and my journey in OBS started. The instructor introduced herself as Cindy and she was quite friendly bah, I guess. We took a group photo and started some ice breaking games. Then the mad rush to prepare the food began. They gave us 2 big tubs of rations and we have to plan our diet ourselves. It was quite messy actually. After a lunch of bread (yes, bread), we had belaying practice. Belaying simply means using a rope to support another person as he climbs up something. Used in height activities like rock climbing. After that, we went to pitch our tent in some jungle. Yes, I am not exaggerating. There were 2 big spiders right beside my tent and they are as big as my palm. Then, we cooked some dinner and each ate a little only. I mean, there were not enough food and everyone just does not have the appetite. The night was spent in packing up. They gave us a backpack each and that backpack is freaking heavy. And when I mean heavy, it really is. Even my NCC friends said that it's heavy loh... The tent was also stuffy and hot...

Day 2
Unpitched our tents when we woke up and went down to do some last minute packing and deciding who is carrying the tents, mess tins and food. After a light breakfast and some running, we went to do flying fox. The flying fox is unlike any other. It's 7 stories high. It really tests our courage as we decide to jump. The feeling when we are flying down is really awesome too. If I can, I will like to do again. =D After a lunch of bread again, we started hiking with the super heavy bags. By the time we reached the other campsite, 5 km away, we were all panting like mad. This campsite fared no better. It's in the middle of nowhere and is full of rocks. The water in the toilet is non-potable... How wonderful. There's no point in flushing as the water will still be brown in colour. After pitching our tents, we went to cook dinner again and soon went to sleep.

Day 3
Woke up to find our tents wet and guessed that it rained in the night. Anyway, we unpitched it and started hiking again. This time we have different checkpoints to go to, and with the super heavy backpacks, it was really really tough. The distance was about 8 km and it's not helping that it was quite sunny. But the next campsite was something like a paradise with proper facilities. We did some high elements there and they are really scary. It tests a lot on teamwork and courage. And guess what? FINALLY! A shower... Even dinner is provided! This was the toughest day overall though.

Day 4
Woke up and unpitched the tent again. By now, this was getting onto my nerves. Had kayaking from morning till evening. It was fun! It has been some time since I kayaked and I really enjoyed it! I was one of the leaders for the sea expedition cos of that. Hah. After some washing up, we treked back to the campsite that we went to on the first day and pitched our tents. This time the campsite was better than the first night one and a mud rush comes again. We have to return the backpacks, bottles, jerry cans, ponchos etc. The only things left are the tents. This took really long. And of cos, since it's our last dinner, we cooked quite a lot of stuff. =D

Day 5
It was raining very heavily when I woke up and when the rain started to die down, we ran to the nearest shelter. Once the rain stopped, we went to unpitch the tent and after washing it, returned back to the store. Lost items were recovered through barter trade with other groups. In the end, my group was one of the few groups which did not have to pay anything for damages or lost items. XD After a long debrief, we went to wait for the boats and soon, was back to civilisation.

Different groups have different schedule and some even have different activities. So, don't be surprised if other HCI people tell you another story. Hah. This summary is a really brief one. There were moments of frustration, cold-ness, hot-ness, tiredness and most importantly, friends-making as the groups contain people of differecnt classes. These emotions are difficult to pen down and I shall let them remain as memories... Forever.

open house

2251. Less than 10 hours to open house. And I still don't have the items list.

Wonderful.

Extremely WONDERFUL!

So you guys don't need logistics committee is it? Ok loh. I realised my extra-ness in the OT. Not so sure about kevin, but sheng jie agreed totally with me...

Do you guys know that it is very pressurising for us to do last minute work when it is like not out fault? Come on, man. I had been chasing for the list since TUESDAY?!?!

No, you guys don't.

Do you guys know that it will be very frustrating tomorrow if you guys need extra stuff that you didn't mentioned to us earlier?

No you guys don't.

Do you guys understand the term "Organising Team"? Where did all that teamwork go? Me, kevin and sheng jie are just doing the passive work. Even if you don't include me in your discussions, at least give face to kevin can? After all, he's IC for logistics committee.

NO YOU GUYS FREAKING HELL DON'T UNDERSTAND AT ALL!!!

Speak about developing leadership... IN-TER-EST-ING...

Fine then. From this moment on, 2301, I shall not care anymore. I will just do my job tomorrow. Set up room, do rifle drill, pack up and off I go.

And yes. I respect the number one uniform very very much. Thank you.
