Regret

When things don't turn out according to our plans, we complain. Yet, it was us who made that decision in the first place. Don't you think it's an irony?

Worse still, whenever things DO turn right, we always seem to congratulate ourselves. Yes, that may be good. After all, it takes nothing but a little self-encouragement to get you going in the long run. However, often we missed out on those who had also made the success possible. Be it teamates, advisors or helpers, they form a vital part of the key to success. Without them, it will be equally hard to accomplish any task.

Maybe humans are born to be selfish. Often at times, we seem to forget the contributions of those around us. In our minds, we think of ourselves as the king. In our minds, there's no room for others, save for your loved ones and close friends. In our minds, dictatorship rules. Our minds dictate us to think of ourselves as the person with the most amount of contribution. Yes, that seems right to me.

Don't get me wrong. By that, I meant that I agree that humans are born to be selfish. Think about it. After all, who won't turn down the idea of a carefree lifestyle with no worries, even if it is at the expense of something else?
