As I look at the countdown timer, it suddenly struck me that it's nearing the last 24 hours of my NPCC life. Very soon, on Wednesday, I will be passing out of NPCC. Of cos, it will be a good thing as I really need to concentrate on my academics. Besides, the rest of the sec 4 cohort had all passed out already. Thus, we really deserve a break after so many months of slogging through ExCo work (13 months, to be exact).

However, it also makes me kinda look back and say, "Hey. After so much hard work put in, what had I gained in the end"? Well, to be honest, I learned what it means to be called efficiency and teamwork. Hard skills aside, I also gained experience in handling leadership positions, be it as an instructor or a department head.

That was my honest part. Now for the practical part. To be practical, my testimonial certainly got a tremendous boost in content, even to the extent of having the need to sieve out those more useless ones. Not forgetting, LEAPS points are also at stake. I don't believe in anyone who says that they don't care about this kind of stuff. Let's face it. We are all humans. In Singapore's meritocratic society, pieces of paper are all that count. No one will believe in you if show up for a interview empty-handed.

However, the same question came back again. What had I gained? Did I work through so many months just to have a good testimonial and LEAPS record? Did I suffer for so long just to get a taste of admin work? I doubt so. I think at the end of the day, it's more about the intangible stuff. It's about how you feel when you leave the Unit after so long and how the soft skills gained can help you through life.

Ok. I am like half-mugging half-blogging now. Brain's kinda not working cos physics is imba hard. Don't blame me if I am not making sense. Lol. And to the rest of my juniors, good luck people! I hope you can treasure your time in NPCC!
